Southlake, TX-resident Jackson Allen Moss is an accomplished leader in the corporate health and safety management field. Before joining Blue Diamond Growers as the director of safety, risk, and health, Jackson Allen Moss was the safety director for Chicago-based brewing company MillerCoors in Fort Worth, TX. Mr. Moss holds numerous industry-related certifications, such as the certification for hazard control management and the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation.
The CSP certification is offered by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) to people who are associated with professional-level safety duties in at least half of their work. Examples of those who are eligible for becoming CSPs are professionals who make worksite assessments to determine risks, investigate incidents, and propose hazard control measures.
The requirements for becoming a CSP through the BCSP include having at least a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years of safety experience at a professional level on safety duties where at least half of the safety work is preventive. Also, candidates must have at least one BCSP qualified credential, such as the Associate Safety Professional or the Graduate Safety Practitioner credential, and pass the CSP examination.
To retain the certification acquired through the BCSP, the CSP holder must pay the annual renewal fee and meet the recertification requirement. The CSP requirement for recertification is to report professional and continuing education activities every five years, accumulating 25 recertification points in total during the period.
