Prior to becoming the director of safety, risk, and health of Blue Diamond Growers, Jackson Allen Moss served in the same position at MillerCoors LLC Brewing Company in Fort Worth, TX. Jackson Allen Moss is engaged with his professional community, and has been a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) since 1999.
Known previously as the American Society of Safety Engineers, ASSP is an association of occupational safety and health (OSH) professionals that has existed for over 100 years. In 1990, ASSP chartered the ASSP Foundation, which has awarded more than $3 million in professional education grants and scholarships.
The ASSP Foundation also supports leadership development and research through funded programs. The ASSP research program is conducted to further OSH professionals' knowledge in their field and to better understand and promote workplace safety.
One recent study conducted by the research program was Advancing Safety Surveillance Using Individualized Sensor Technology, which consisted of the monitoring of workers' fatigue levels in order to increase their productivity and reduce injuries. The study took three years and involved researchers at the University at Buffalo, Miami University of Ohio, the University of Dayton, and Auburn University.
